Fans Are 'Crying' as Sam Heughan Shares Photo from 'Final Readthrough' With 'Outlander' Co-Star

Outlander star Sam Heughan is breaking hearts everywhere, and it has nothing to do with his good looks.

The actor took to Instagram on August 12 to share a photo of himself and co-star Caitríona Balfe behind the scenes of the eighth and final season of Outlander, and it seems nobody is ready to say goodbye to the hit series.

"Final readthrough. Final block. Final season. @outlander_starz ," Heughan captioned his post, which also included a pic of Heughan by the water and a shot of the Outlander script.

Fans couldn't help but get emotional about the fact that their favorite show is coming to an end.

"Not crying...really, I'm not.😪🤧," wrote one commenter.

"I’ll never be the same.. will miss you all so much!💖💚💖," a second person lamented.

"What an amazing journey you all have been on. And what an incredible show you’ve made. ❤️," raved a third fan.

On Tuesday, August 6, Heughan—who plays Jamie Fraser in the historical fantasy drama—posted a video of himself in costume to mark Outlander 's 10th anniversary.

"If you didn't know it, this Friday is a big day," Heughan, 44, said. "It's the 10th anniversary of Outlander . Can you believe it? Ten years! A decade."

"Well, we couldn't be here without you guys, the fans," he added. "So a huge thank you to all the fans who have supported us over the years."

Heughan also broke some big news: The Outlander cast will be heading to New York City in October for two special events: The PaleyFest on October 16 and New York Comic Con on October 17.

Season 7, Part 2 of Outlander will premiere on Starz on November 22.
