Foodies ‘Intrigued’ by New Dr Pepper Flavor: ‘This Could Go Either Way’

Dr Pepper has captured our attention with a teaser of a brand new flavor , reportedly hitting store shelves sometime in the new year.

A snack food update account on Instagram called SnackGator announced the impending arrival of a brand new variant of Dr Pepper, set to arrive in early 2025: Blackberry Dr Pepper. "😍YAY!" the foodie Instagram account wrote . "Are you excited to try?!"

While there are some gently mixed reactions to the incoming variety, fans overall seem to agree about the upcoming flavor, which features purple detailing on the cans, as well as a zero sugar option.

It's not yet clear if this is scheduled to join the brand's permanent lineup or if it'll only be around for a limited time, but, either way, fans are "intrigued for sure," with one top comment guessing that the first sip "could go either way: delicious or gross."

"Yes," someone else answered certainly, though they expressed concern that it could be more reminiscent of a flavored medication than a refreshing beverage.

Another Instagram user was on board, writing, "Yes I would try that."

Most other commenters were also on board to give it a taste, save for one who preemptively declared, "Eww brotha."

Earlier this year Dr Pepper released a limited-edition Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut , which had fans sprinting to stores to snag a case of their own.

Foodies are also gearing up for Lay's to bring some of their international flavors stateside , with Lay's Wavy Tzatziki , Lay's Masala, and Lay's Honey Butter , hitting shelves this month.
