Believe it or not, Oreo lovers were once limited to just one flavor of the iconic treat. Over the years, of course, dozens of Oreo varieties have been introduced—from lemon to mint chip to peanut butter and beyond—and starting next month, fans can try an all-new version of the classic creme-filled cookie.

In a partnership you probably didn't see coming, Oreo and Coca-Cola are teaming up to offer two never-before-seen products that are already generating plenty of buzz: The Limited-Edition Oreo Coca-Cola Sandwich Cookie and Coca-Cola Oreo Zero Sugar Limited Edition.

According to a press release, the cookie will feature two distinctive "basecakes" including a classic chocolate containing Coca-Cola syrup and a "red-colored golden" basecake. Both basecakes will feature popping candies for a fizzy soda-like sensation. The new soda, meanwhile, similarly fuses Coca-Cola and Oreo flavors for an "unparalleled experience."

While the new offerings won't be available until Monday, Sept. 9, the internet has been looking forward to the launch since Australian food blogger Nectorious Papi shared photos of the collaboration in July on Instagram, where reactions were more positive than anything else.

    "Intriguing...." wrote one commenter.

"I am HERE for the COLA OREO," raved a second Instagram user.

    Still, not everyone was convinced.

"Umm pass 😂," a more skeptical snacker commented.

The new flavors also caused a bit of a stir on Reddit last month, where one person said they had the opportunity to try the Coca-Cola Oreo Zero in advance of the official launch.

"Got one of these today (have a friend who works at one of the cocacola buildings) and it is actually good to be fair. Thought I would hate it," wrote the pleasantly surprised Redditor.
