Former Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar recently shared what she thought was a cute video of her son seeing horses for the first time—only for fans to call her out for "unsafe" parenting.
On Monday, Aug. 12, the mom of three took to Instagram with a clip featuring her youngest child, Gunner , 1. (She also shares a son, Gideon , 6, and a daughter, Evelyn , almost 4, with her husband, Austin Forsyth .)
"my 14 month’s old reaction to seeing horses 🥹🐴," she captioned the update.
In the video, Duggar rode on what appeared to be an ATV with Gunner riding on her lap. Neither wore a helmet as they motored across a grassy area.
Gunner waved and excitedly squealed upon seeing horses in the field. Meanwhile, his older sister was "not impressed," as she started crying when the four-legged creatures approached them. Later, Gideon pointed out his favorite horse.
It's not clear whether Evelyn and Gideon also rode on the ATV with their mom and brother.

In the comments, some Instagram users drew attention to multiple safety hazards.
One wrote, "So unsafe, one child all ready freaking out and possibly making the four wheeler go out of control. Think mama😢."
A second declared, "Jesus Christ, don’t put your baby on an ATV," while someone else commented, "Oh my goodness that is scary and dangerous."
Meanwhile, another Instagram user was concerned about Duggar's children around the horses.
"Allowing a young boy to stand in front of a horse with his back to him is an accident to happen, and no safty [sic] for the other two children," they pointed out. "Evie is crying and she could spook the horses again an accident to happen."

They added, "If you take kids to see horses please make sure they are all behind a fence for their own safety, animals can look cute but one move and bang all can go wrong."
Still, plenty of followers defended Duggar, with one commenting, "All these people telling you how to parent are wild. I’m so glad you’re living your best life Joy."
Someone else echoed, "Many people commenting has never been on a farm or lived on one 🤦🏽♀️," while another wrote, "🥴 some of yall never drank out the water hose and it really shows."
