Years after leaving the villa and falling in love, Love Island UK Season 5 contestants Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have called it quits after five years together and one year engaged.

Hague shocked the reality TV world with an announcement made on her Instagram on Wednesday, August 14. "Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this," she wrote. "After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end."

Hague then went on to talk about the couple's one-year-old daughter, Bambi. "Without us there would be no her," she wrote. "She will always be my priority." She then went on to thank the fans for the support they have shown the couple for the past five years. However, she did request, "Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I'll be back when it feels right."

Fury also wrote on his Instagram, announcing the end of the relationship. "The past 5 years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi & I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our families [sic] privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time."

Hague and Fury competed together on the fifth season of the UK's hit ITV2 version of Love Island in 2019. Fury entered on the first day, while Hague came in soon after on Day 4. The two coupled up at the first opportunity, and stayed together throughout the entire season. They ended up finishing in second place in the final fan vote.

The two stayed together since leaving the villa, and moved in together shortly thereafter. Hague announced she was pregnant in September 2022 before eventually having Bambi last January. They got engaged last year when Fury proposed on a secluded cliff in Ibiza, leading her under the guise of a "fake brand trip."

The news of Hague and Fury's breakup has rocked the Love Island community. As written in a piece by Vulture , the two not only represented the positivity and popularity that can come out of the dating reality show, but also how it can rocket one to stardom. Since leaving the villa, both have made big names for themselves in their respective fields. Shortly after Love Island , Hague signed a £500,000 deal with PrettyLittleThing and in August 2021 was hired as the firm's "creative director" after previously serving as a brand ambassador.

Fury is the younger brother of former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury , and has faced off in the ring against notable YouTubers like Jake Paul and KSI . The two were seen as one of the consummate definitions of "power couple," which makes the news of their split even more shocking.
