Claim to Fame Season 3 Reaches Final Four After Tonight's Elimination
By Matthew Huff,
Claim to Fame just returned for Season 3 is coming to an end, and after six episodes, things are coming down to the wire. This week a seventh contestant was sent packing which leaves just four players in the game heading towards the finale in a couple weeks. Plus, as more and more clues are handed out, the contestants are closer than ever to discovering the identities of their competitors.
The reality show invited 11 contestants to live in a Hollywood mansion, each with an A-list celebrity relative that they must keep secret. Each week one nepo-baby gets their 'claim to fame' revealed, with whoever can keep their famous relative under wraps until the end taking home the $100,000 prize. This week a seventh relative was sent packing.
This week in Episode 6, our 5 remaining contestants competed in a massive celebrity trivia competition not just to win a wine cellar clue, but also to earn individual clues about the relatives of each celebrity. At the end of the episode, the week's guesser attempted to eliminate another player and the final four was decided. Here's everything that happened on Episode 6 of Claim to Fame Season 3.
Who went home during Episode 6 on Claim to Fame Season 3?
ABC
Danny
It sort of seemed like Danny was screwed either way coming into this episode. Last week his competitors clocked that he was related to Marc Anthony based on his wine cellar clue, but he was saved when Dedrick went rogue and tried to eliminate Adam instead. This week Danny was a safe guess in everyone's back pocket. However, when he lost the challenge and was voted to be the guesser, he didn't have much to work with. Based on partially solving Mackenzie 's wine cellar clue, he guessed that she was related to Blake Shelton , but when that turned out to be incorrect, he was sent home instead.
Turns out that Danny is actually the nephew of salsa king Marc Anthony. Anthony is of course also well known for being the ex of Jennifer Lopez, something that factored into several of the clue's this season. When Danny incorrectly guessed Mackenzie's relative, his connection to Marc Anthony was revealed.
What were the clues from the yarn trivia challenge?
In this week's challenge, the winner of each round of celebrity-related trivia won a clue to the celebrity relative of one other player in the house, but they didn't know whose clue they were receiving. Here are the five clues and some analysis as to who they might be connected to.
Round 1 clue: "This actor's character played an integral part in helping save Superman's life as an infant in the original film."
Hud won this clue which seems to describe Marlon Brando , as he played Superman's father in the 1978 movie. This all but confirms that Shane is related to Brando.
Round 2 clue: "This love ballad specialist gave Kelly Clarkson a true fan-girl moment when he surprised her by singing a duet with her on her talk show."
Shane won this clue that describes Michael Bolton . Based on Adam's wine cellar clue, it seems that he's the one related to the crooner.
Round 3 clue: "While Missy Elliott talked about her Gadonk-o-donk-donk, this singer talked about a Badonkadonk that was Honky Tonk."
Mackenzie won this clue and confirmed that it was for her relative. Trace Adkins sings "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" so it's presumably about him.
Round 4 clue: "Madonna and the 'Small Town' farm boy were both inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008."
Adam wins this clue, and it seems to describe John Cougar Mellencamp who sang "Small Town" and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. Hud seems to be the one related to Mellencamp.
Round 5 clue: "This Latin superstar starred in an action thriller with Dakota Fanning and Denzel Washington."
Hud won this clue, which is obviously about Danny's relative Marc Anthony.
Who's left on Claim to Fame Season 3?
Following Episode 6, there are 4 contestants remaining on Claim to Fame . They are:
