Move over Pub Subs, there's a new Publix trend in town: the glazed croissant. And is there anything better than a fresh, warm croissant ? Especially if it's doused in vanilla glaze? We think not. One TikToker recently posted about how you can get this delicious life-changing treat from the supermarket's bakery department, which would make a great addition to breakfast or brunch . We called a dozen Publix supermarkets across four different states to get some answers about this pastry upgrade.

What is the Viral Publix Glazed Croissant Hack?
Publix customers are heading to the bakery department to grab a pack of croissants and then getting a warm vanilla glaze poured over the top behind the bakery counter. Social media creator @sarahmargareteats says that this hack is only around $3 (for two croissants) and will "change your life."
Others report that this hack is legit, and it's even starting to roll out as a permanent item on the bakery floor due to soaring social media popularity. "Due to the tik toks we started selling 6ct glazed, so if you come by they're going to now want us to price it as that since we have a code now. They're more expensive that way..." says another TikToker.
Calls to the popular grocery chain confirmed this, with 10 out of 12 stores in Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina confirming that they do indeed sell the croissants plain and glazed in 2 packs, 6 packs and 13 packs. Employees tell us the 2 packs and 13 packs are sold plain and you can nicely request the glaze be poured on behind the counter (if it's available). And as a bonus FYI here, you can ask for any bakery item to be glazed—not just the croissants.
Another employee told us that they sell out pretty quickly in the morning when they're made due to the rising popularity. Another bakery department employee told us to order the croissants a day before to ensure they're hot and ready by the time you pick them up. While not all stores told us that you have to order in advance, it's best to call your local store to be sure you can get your hands on these warm glazed flaky beauties.
And as far as grabbing a container of the now-viral glaze to pour on anything and everything at home? Publix sadly does not sell it (we asked, of course).
For those who don't live near a Publix location, we're not sure this on-demand glazing is an option at other grocery stores. We suspect that if you store-made doughnuts in the bakery section it might be an option. It never hurts to ask, politely of course, to see what's possible. You might end up with a sweet surprise to take home.
