Five Below Is Selling Adorable Hello Kitty-Themed Bowl Sets for $5, and Fans are Clearing the Shelves

We can only handle so much change at once, and after finding out that Goofy isn’t actually a dog , we don’t think we can take any more world-shattering news this year. Nothing makes sense anymore, and we’re starting to second-guess everything we ever thought we knew about our favorite cartoon characters and cultural icons. Is Stitch really an alien? Does Mickey wear gloves, or are those actually his hands? Is Simone Biles really the GOAT? (The answer to that last one is a resounding yes).

As upsetting as the revelations about Goofy are, though, we still haven’t gotten over learning that our beloved Hello Kitty isn’t who we thought she was either. Instead of being a cat, she’s actually a little girl from London named Kitty White.

By our calculations, none of that is correct, but alas, we’ve made it to this timeline and we can’t go back now. Even more confusing is the fact that the company that manages the image of who we now know as Kitty White is a company called Sanrio, based out of Japan. We’re not experts in geography, but Japan is a long way from London.

Regardless, we’ll just have to accept who Hello Kitty is and move on because the silver lining to it all is that she’s still ultra cute. If you happen to be her number one fan—or if you prefer to recognize her undeniable Japanese heritage— Five Below has the perfect piece of merch for you.

An adorable Hello Kitty Noodle Bowl and Chopsticks Set popped up on Five Below’s shelves, and while it’s not direct confirmation that she’s a cat from Japan, it’s close enough. This cutesy kawaii set features a 16-ounce ceramic bowl and matching wooden chopsticks. Emblazoned on the side of the bowl is the titular character herself, drinking what looks to be a strawberry-flavored beverage from an actual strawberry .

The chopsticks also feature a strawberry wrapping around the ends of the utensils and can comfortably rest in the notched portion of the bowl when not in use. Now, instead of focusing on who we were before we found out the truth about Kitty White, we can drown our sorrows in a delicious bowl of ramen (maybe even two).
