The 76th Emmy Awards are now less than a month away, and now we finally know who's going to be hosting the event.

Father-and-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy will host the show on Sunday, September 15, live on ABC. In 2020, the pair were the first father and son to win major Emmy awards in the same year when Eugene won for Outstanding Comedy Actor and Dan won for Supporting Comedy Actor, both for Schitt's Creek . Dan also won for writing and directing, and both took home trophies for outstanding comedy series as executive producers.

Fans reacted to news of the joint hosting gig with excitement on X.

"This is the greatest thing to happen at an awards show since tina fey and amy poehler," wrote one commenter.

"That’s fantastic news! Eugene and Dan Levy will definitely bring some great energy and humor to the 2024 Emmy Awards!" raved a second fan.

"Brilliant selection! Eugene and Dan Levy will bring a fresh and funny perspective," agreed another X user.

"Yes GAWWWWWWWDDDD!! Do the Oscar’s too," a fourth person pleaded.

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,” The Levys said in a statement, as reported by Variety . “We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all on Sept. 15.”

Eugene is nominated this year for his Apple TV+ series The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy in the category of outstanding hosted nonfiction series or special.

In March, Eugene gave Schitt's Creek fans hope about the possibility of the series returning in the future.

"[We] never say never when it comes to any kind of future Schitt's Creek products," Eugene told Parade in an exclusive interview. "But bottom line, as [son] Daniel has said, we've got to, you know, you have to start with an idea that's as good or better than where we left the show. And when that actually happens, that's probably something that would be addressed and acted on."

"It may happen down the line," he added. "It's just what and where is that idea?"
