'Doubling Down With the Derricos' Karen Shares Major First for Her Children in New Video

Karen and Deon Derrico 's children recently experienced a major first—attending school! And the Doubling Down With the Derricos ' matriarch shared a video featuring the milestone,

On Friday, Aug. 16, Karen took to Instagram with a clip of most of her 14 kiddos (her eldest, Darian , graduated from high school this spring) heading off to their first day of school. This was a big deal, considering Karen has exclusively homeschooled her children.

"👀 NEW 🏫 YEAR = NEW 🏫!📚✂️✏️📓🚸🖍️📋🥰," she captioned her update.

In the video, Deon and Karen's kids stood outside their school buildings before heading off for their first day. Another clip showed their triplets, Dawsyn , De'Aren and Dyver , 5, walking into their new classroom.

Karen also included an impressive photo in her montage showing a row of 13 backpacks lined up at home. In another photo, all 13 kids were packed into their super-sized van.

In the comments, Instagram users praised Karen and supported her choice to enroll the kids in school. (Although, it isn't clear whether they attend full-time or if it's a hybrid situation.)

One follower wrote, "How wonderful! They can make friends and sis… you can breathe 🧘🏾‍♀️ get a 30 min nap in!"

Another fan commented, "It's so good to see the kids going to school outside of homeschooling. This will allow the kids to make friends, work on their social skills, & get used to being around other people."
