YouTube star and British influencer Luke Goodwin has died after battling cancer for two years. He was 35.

Goodwin’s wife, Beckey , announced the sad update on her husband’s health in a video that she shared on his YouTube channel on Aug. 4. She introduced the video by noting it was one she “never wanted” to record, though she later added that it had been her husband’s request that she do so.

“Luke did, sadly, pass away on the 2nd of August, peacefully,” she confirmed in the video. Beckey and his parents were by his side at the couple’s home at the time of his death.

"Luke is at peace now. He’s not in any pain,” she added.

Goodwin was diagnosed in August 2022 with a rare type of cancer called leiomyosarcoma that he said targeted his liver, lungs and lymph nodes. Doctors told him the disease was terminal and initially estimated he had about one year to live. By October 2023, he was given months to live and was told he had weeks left by June 2024, according to his YouTube channel .

The father of two was vocal on social media about his cancer battle. He used his YouTube channel to provide updates on his progress and struggles along the way, amassing more than 7,500 subscribers on the video-sharing platform and more than 3,500 followers on Instagram.

A couple of days after his death, Beckey said she and their children were “doing good,” which she believed her husband “would have wanted.” She also declared that “his legacy will carry on through his children.”

“It’s still rather raw, at the minute, but you’ve got to keep your head strong. That’s what Luke would say. It is what it is,” she said.

After thanking Goodwin’s “absolutely amazing” followers, some of whom she said had become friends, Beckey shared a heartfelt message in memory of the husband she had lost.

“I just wanted to say, Luke—he was an amazing person,” she said. "He really was. He’s shown me how to be strong, even when you’re going through the toughest times.”
