Some of Guy Fieri’s fans were confused by an edited photo that the restaurateur recently shared with his fans on social media.

In the photo that the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host shared on Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 15, Fieri sat on a horse, one hand on the reins and another on his hip. He looked relaxed in the pose, wearing dark-wash jeans with a white T-shirt as white-framed sunglasses shaded his eyes from the daytime brightness.

But the angle of the photo put the celebrity chef near the top of the image, with fans’ views focused not on him, but on the horse’s head, which had been morphed into a braying cartoon. Instead of matching the horse’s brown coat, the head was a golden yellow with a red tongue sticking out from beneath a top layer of large, blocky teeth.

Fieri’s edits to the photo tapped into a viral meme that originated with an image that started spreading online earlier this week. The initial image was part of a screenshot from the upcoming movie We Live in Time , a romantic drama that hits theaters this fall. The film stars Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield , who appeared on a carousel alongside the now-viral horse head in the screenshot. The horse pictured beside them was part of the carousel.

Based on some of the comments on Fieri’s post, many of his fans were unaware the horse head referenced a popular meme.

“This is the most confusing thing I've ever seen,” one top-liked comment said. While one person who responded to their comment tipped them off to the We Live in Time context, others echoed the confusion.

“Guy, what is this?” one fan asked.

“Are we protecting the horse’s identity for some reason? 😂😂,” another person wondered.

“Yikes !!! 😮😂,” one Instagram user wrote.

Others found the post hilarious, though it was unclear if they understood the image’s context.

“LOL! 🤣 that 🐴,” one person wrote.

“Loving the content guy!” another fan praised.

“You win the internet 🐴,” an Instagram user declared.
