Gordon Ramsay Issues Stern Warning About Cooking in College Dorms: 'Please Don't Do This'

Gordon Ramsay , a celebrity chef known for being stern and intense with his cooking advice, had a clear message to tell anyone thinking of cooking elaborate meals in dorm rooms.

The 57-year-old reacted to a video of someone cooking "Surf & Turf grilled cheese in my dorm room" and had a lot to say about the experience. Ramsay posted the reaction video on Instagram with the caption, "If you’re moving into a dorm this autumn please don’t do this…. @lazypotnoodles."

There were some key moves in the video that people might want to avoid, like when the person flambéed the dish, and Ramsay emphasized the fire hazard as he shouted, "It'll set off those fire alarms!"

The next part of the video included a lot of steam as well, but Ramsay admitted, "I'm going to be honest, this is coming together." While he seemed to think positively about the dish at the end, he warned people against it in the accompanying caption.

Along with the fire hazard, which is a good point since college fire alarms are notoriously sensitive, Ramsay seemed to completely miss a major sanitary issue in the clip when the cook placed the raw steak on his laptop keyboard.

Many fans pointed it out, with comments like, "Gordon: Why is there a light on the pepper mill? Everyone else: steak on laptop!" and "Gordon just going to ignore the fact he rested his steak on the laptop?"

Another highlighted the unique way the person used a Scrub Daddy sponge to wash the veggies, writing, "Throwing the steak on the laptop keyboard and washing the veggies like that is wild 😭."
