Buffalo Wild Wings New Menu Drop Has Nothing to Do With Chicken

Buffalo Wild Wings is revamping its menu ahead of football season with the addition of a fan-favorite item that likely no one saw coming.

Earlier this week, the fast food chain revealed it would add several new menu options centered around one ingredient: bacon.

The "star" of the brand's bacon menu is its new Buffalo Bacon Sauce, which it described as "a combination of classic buffalo sauce and smoky bacon flavor." According to the Aug. 19 news release, the sauce can be added to wings, burgers, sandwiches, "and everything in between."

Along with the sauce comes three new sandwiches: the Bacon Mac & Cheese Burger, the Bacon Patty Melt, and the timeless classic that is the BLT.

A twist on the beloved bacon cheeseburger, the Bacon Mac & Cheese Burger is said to feature "hand-smashed double patties" on a challah bun topped with thick-cut bacon, American cheese, mac and cheese, pickled hot peppers before being finished off with Hatch chile aioli.

B-Dubs' new patty melt is similar but a little less adventurous as it takes two burgers on toasted brioche and stacks them with layers of thick-cut bacon, Swiss and American cheese, grilled onions, and bacon aioli.

Its BLT is just as you'd expect, only with added flare from the bacon aioli and toasted parmesan brioche.

“We are constantly innovating our menu to bring people the best flavors,” said Buffalo Wild Wings CMO Tristan Meline in a statement. “From the smoky notes in our new Buffalo Bacon Sauce to the irresistible Bacon Patty Melt, we have raised the bar with our new thick-cut bacon menu, combining high-quality ingredients and delicious flavors.”

Could its new Buffalo Bacon sauce (or anything from the new lineup for that matter) go on to be as popular as the chain's Buffalo Ranch sauce ? Only time will tell.

The new bacon menu is available now at participating Buffalo Wild Wing sports bars and GO locations nationwide, as well as online and via the app.
