Since coming to our screens a decade ago, the Love Island villa has become one of the most iconic locations in reality TV. The picturesque tropical manor serves as a setting for the young, single islanders to fall in and out of love over the course of the summer. Part of the floor plan are the bedrooms, which has everyone sleeping--and hooking up--in one room together.

So that begs the question, how often do the sheets get changed on Love Island ?

Luckily we have some answers, courtesy of an interview E! News did with some of the cast members of the most reason Season 6 of Love Island USA , which aired its reunion episode on August 19. And surprisingly, there are some different stories as to the cleaning regiment in Fiji.

"I’d like to say every day they get changed by the team," third-place finisher Kenny Rodriguez said. "The team there at Fiji is great. They made us feel so at home." Season winner Kordell Beckham agreed, adding new sheets came "every time we woke up, as far as I saw."

Kaylor Martin , who lasted a month in the villa on Season 6, disagreed. "They claim they change them every day, but I know they don't," she revealed. "I would wear perfume to bed, wake up and smell it the next day I'm sleeping in it. So, I don't know how often. That's probably a little concerning." Despite her theory, she did clarify the sheets were changed, just not as daily as suggested.

For what it's worth, even after saying sheets were replaced on a daily basis, Kenny wasn't necessarily promoting the villa as a bastion of cleanliness. Indeed, he admitted, "There was a Band-Aid that I saw under the covers multiple days. So, yeah, that was one thing I was iffy about."

"We are all adults," said Liv Walker , one of two Australians in the cast. "Tere's some germophobes and people who, if the sheets won't change daily, they would complain. A lot of us have long hair. You'd see the hair. They're changed, promise. I believe they're changed."

Another question is not necessarily when the sheets were changed, but by whom . After all, the islanders are not meant to see any other people in the villa besides themselves and host Ariana Madix . So, if there indeed is a cleaning crew tidying up after them as they attempt to find romance, where are they? While the cast joked that the sheets were replaced by "magical ghosts," Kordell actually relayed a story of seeing them once.

"We'll be over there cooking, or girls up doing their makeup," he said, "and I'll come back in the room to grab something I forgot. And I'll see them take the sheets off, change them. I even saw some of them was changing the pillowcases as well. Taking those off, changing them to new ones, cleaning the room, carpet—all of that."

Even with a heavy-duty cleaning crew, there was more than enough mess to get through on both Love Island Season 6 and the recent reunion. You can watch it all currently on Peacock.
