Just because Bobby Bones won Dancing With the Stars back in 2018 doesn't mean that people don't still have strong feelings about his victory—including DWTS co-host Julianne Hough .

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Sunday, August 18, Hough was asked if there was ever a DWTS celeb win that she "strongly disagreed with." At first, Hough paused, but then fellow guest Mickey Guyton brought up Bones.

"Oh, I actually agree with you!" Hough said. "And I think it’s because of the fanbase, right? It’s all about the fanbase on that show. He was not the best dancer, I agree."

The next day, Bones took to Instagram to respond to the criticism—but instead of defending himself, he agreed with Hough's assessment of his skills.

"I was the worst dancer. I take pride in that," Bones said in a video. "Now, I tried as hard as anybody in the history in the show. But I can’t dance now, couldn’t dance then. But, you know who took down the big evil empire of dance? Well, it’s not evil or an empire...but me!”

“I’m the greatest champion ever. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer, but the greatest champion ever,” Bones added. “I’m the man of the people. I’m the man that you guys selected. But Mickey Guyton, what the…? Julianne Hough, you’re cool.”

The comments proved that Bones is still a fan favorite.

"That’s literally the point of the show isn’t it? I always get so confused when people get mad a celebrity doesn’t know how to dance," wrote one Instagram user.

"You won and that’s what matters and you gave 100% effort!! ❤️" commented a second person.

Of course, not all DWTS fans were happy about Bones' unlikely triumph. His Season 27 win caused such an upset that the show changed the rules, giving judges' scores more weight.
