You might think fruits like pineapple and mango are sweet enough as is (and that’s an argument you’d probably win), but what if you could amp up the sweet factor or take your favorite fruit in a decidedly different flavor direction? Tanghulu is a traditional Chinese snack that consists of fresh fruit coated in a crunchy rock candy exterior, and lately, we’ve seen an influx of wild variations of the popular treat popping up on timelines and "For You" pages everywhere.

From strawberries and peaches to wilder candied items like hot dogs and pizza , nothing is safe from getting the dipped-in-molten-sugar treatment, and although we aren’t sold on the idea of candy-coated hot dogs, you can sign us up for candied fruits any day of the week. Whether you prefer your candied watermelon coated in spicy Tajín or you’re more into the technicolor flavor mashup of blue raspberry-dipped slices of kiwi, there’s sure to be a candied confection out there for you.

Making our own from scratch, however, can be quite the task, considering the technique required to perfectly heat sugar to the hard-crack stage. And opting to use the lemon juice and jello method means ingesting artificial flavors and dyes, and who really wants to do that? Thankfully, @costcohotfinds shared the deets on a better-for-you mouth-puckering candied fruit option that seems to be an incredibly polarizing treat among fans.

Now, you can find bright and colorful bags of Fruit Riot Frozen Sour Candy Grapes in the freezer section at Costco , and judging by the comments, shoppers are divvying out mixed reviews. Juicy green grapes are splashed with lemon juice and coated in mixed berry, green apple or lemon-lime-flavored shells made without artificial flavors and synthetic dyes. Additionally, the crunchy vegan exterior coating makes it a snack everyone can enjoy, and it might even be a great addition to your Halloween candy board.

The treat gets its sour power from the addition of citric acid, which takes this candied delicacy out of the sweet realm and into the sour stratosphere. Delicious as they may sound to us, shoppers seem turned off by the coating, with one saying, “These are actually so gross. The coating is 🤮.”

Surprisingly, they weren’t the only user to express the same sentiments, but a few fans seemed to love the mouth-charging taste of these frozen flavor bombs. "Already addicted! I do prefer sour flavors so they are my jam. Can’t wait to try the pineapple!!" said one person.

For just $10.99, you can give these candied cuties a whirl, and without sounding too overly confident, we’re sure they’ll knock your socks off (one way or another).
