Melanie Griffith Shares ‘Exciting’ Family Announcement

Actress Melanie Griffith had some big news for her fans on Aug. 20, revealing to the world that her daughter Stella Banderas , whom Griffith shares with ex-husband Antonio Banderas , is getting married to her childhood sweetheart.

The 67-year-old took to Instagram to share some beautiful engagement photos of Stella showing off the ring and posing with her new fiancé, Alex Gruszynski .

Griffith wrote, "He asked…. On bended knee… she said yes ♥️ Stella and Alex are engaged to be married ♥️ Their love story began in pre-school! True love, deep love! Congratulations to the beloveds!!! ♥️💥♥️💫♥️."

In the first moody black-and-white photo, Stella wore a stunning white dress while hugging and holding hands with Gruszynski, while another picture showed Stella admiring the ring as they sat outside for a picnic.

Fans were loving the romantic moment, such as one who replied, "Oh, isn’t that beautiful? Congratulations. Congratulations.♥️💍🥂."

"Preschool? That's so beautiful. Congrats to them and to you mama! 💞," wrote another, while a third said, "There are few such pure loves, they were truly lucky. Congratulations."

Someone else exclaimed, "This is so precious!! Congratulations to your beloveds! This is so beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️.

"So exciting 😍😍," wrote a different fan.

Stella shared the big news on her Instagram account as well, showing the ring along with photos of the couple over the years, from pre-school to now, and their adorable love.

She wrote alongside the photos, "I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍."

Her mom commented, "I love you both sooooo much!! Congratulations again!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️," while many more admired their sweet love story.

Stella is part of a large blended family . Her siblings include Dakota Johnson , whom Griffith shares with ex-husband Don Johnson , as well as Alexander Bauer , whose father is Griffith's other ex-husband, Steven Bauer . Griffith also maintains her relationship with Johnson's son Jesse Johnson .
