Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Look Loved-Up in Rare Red Carpet Outing

Country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood put their love on display while attending the 17th Academy of Country Music Honors on Aug. 21 in a rare red carpet appearance for the couple.

The two dressed up for the special event that honored Yearwood for her contributions to the country music genre. Brooks and Yearwood posed for a sweet photo upon arrival with bright smiles on their faces, standing with their arms around one another as Yearwood rested a hand on her husband's chest.

Yearwood wore a beautiful floral-patterned button-up dress with a collar and statement dangling earrings, while Brooks had on nice pants, a black button-up and a suit jacket, paired with his signature cowboy hat.

Brooks also shared an update with photos from the event, showing his support for his wife who received the ACM Icon Award during the night's event. In tribute, Emmylou Harris and Lauren Alaina performed Yearwood's hit song, "The Song Remembers When."

In Brooks' update, he shared a photo of himself giving Yearwood a kiss on the cheek in front of the dressing room mirror, along with some other candid snaps throughout the ACM Honors, writing in the caption, "My night with the ICONIC @TrishaYearwood! love, g."

The "Friends in Low Places" singer also shared a special tribute to Yearwood on his website , saying of her ACM Honors award, "I was just so proud. I’m always proud of her, but to see and hear her recognized like that – and to hear people use the word ‘icon’ in the same breath as her name – just took me someplace new."

"She is an icon. I know what a world-class talent and force she is…and we all know what an incredible vocalist she is…but I love it when others really take notice, too," he went on.

Brooks and Yearwood first met in 1987, but they didn't get together until years later, tying the knot in 2005.
