Little Debbie Unveils New '90s-Inspired Treat That's Out of This World

Little Debbie fans are getting excited about a new treat that food bloggers have assured them is coming soon.

The beloved snack cake brand recently unveiled its lineup for the upcoming fall season , an announcement that had fans calling the brand a “national treasure” as many began eagerly anticipating the pumpkin- and gingerbread-flavored treats on the way.

But according to food blogger Markie Devo , another special surprise has been added to the growing list of reasons for people to get excited about fall 2024. In a Tuesday, Aug. 20 post on Instagram , Devo previewed Little Debbie’s Cosmic Mini Muffins, the brand’s newest chocolate-flavored offering.

The mini muffins are a throwback to the 1990s-era Cosmic Brownies , a favorite among Little Debbie fans. The new minis have a “light & fluffy texture,” according to an image of the packaging that Devo shared with fans, and include Little Debbie’s classic Cosmic Sprinkles.

“This new treat takes inspiration from the classic Cosmic Brownies (which are to die for),” Devo wrote in the Instagram caption.

Many Little Debbie fans seemed excited by the news, with one instantly saying they “Need” to try the mini muffins once they’re available.

“Yum!” one Instagram user wrote as another agreed the treat "❤️❤️looks yummy.”

"I wanna to try this one,” one person insisted.

“They sound sooo good 🤩,” one fan said as another declared, “oh im gona eat the FRICK out of this.”

Though most fans seemed excited by the news, not everyone was sure the Cosmic Mini Muffins would be a home run. The product image on the box made the muffins look “kinda DRYYYY,” one person noticed before suggesting, “A frosting core would been nice.”

Another person agreed with the assessment, writing, “honestly these look dry as all hell.”

“No thanks. Can you just make the regular ones larger?” one Instagram user requested.

Those interested in trying the new treats will be able to do so by picking them up at stores that regularly sell Little Debbie products starting in October, Devo reported.
