On the surface, it would seem that Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver have a lot in common: They're both British celebrity chefs, they've both starred in hit TV shows, they've both written multiple bestselling cookbooks, and they're both dads with large families. Unfortunately, however, the celebs have been famously at odds for years—though a recent social media post from Ramsay claims he has nothing but "love" for his rival.

In a video shared to Ramsay's Instagram , a fan asked if the chef ever listens to Charli XCX's hit "Girl So Confusing" and thinks about Oliver (the song is about the feud between Charli and Lorde ).

Ramsay answered the question by holding up a copy of Oliver's cookbook Jamie’s Italy . “Come on guys, that is old news, I love Jamie!" he said.

"Do you end feuds in Brat Summer? Asking for a friend….." Ramsay captioned the post.

In the comments, fans applauded Ramsay's response.

"Well played well played 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 😂😂😂," wrote one Instagram user.

"2 great chefs and individuals with their own personal take on food, education and entertainment. Love them both for different reasons. Diversity makes the world go round ❤️," commented a second person.

According to Mashed , the feud between the two stars dates back to 2009, when Oliver slammed Ramsay for disparaging comments he made about an Australian journalist. In retaliation, Ramsay called Oliver a "one-pot wonder"—and the pair continued to trade barbs (and sometimes apologies) for years.

The battle took a more serious turn in 2017 when Oliver made a comment about Ramsay that—while interpreted by some as harmless—hit a little too close to home.

"I don't think he can be jealous of me because no British chef has cracked American T.V. like Gordon has...He's killing it, but we're different...But he's got four kids and I've got five kids and I don't want to be slugging off some kids' dad on telly. It's not nice," Oliver said in an interview.

Ramsay and his wife, Tana , had recently suffered a pregnancy loss with what would have been their fifth child, and Ramsay took offense at Oliver's remarks.

"Jamie turned round and said, 'I've got five kids, he's got four kids'," Ramsay said at the time. "To judge someone else's family on the amount of kids you have...Boys will always fight and butt heads, but Tana was mortified, I mean really mortified."
