Chevy Chase and Christie Brinkley’s Reunion Photos Evoke 40 Years Worth of Nostalgia

Chevy Chase and Christie Brinkley have fans in their feels after sharing a series of selfies from their recent reunion.

In a joint Instagram post shared by the two actors on Monday, Aug. 26, Chase and Brinkley were all smiles as they posed in the back of a moving vehicle and later shared a hug while hanging out at an undisclosed location.

For the photo opp, Chase, 80, wore a mint green t-shirt with a light pink button-up layered over it, his red-frame glasses and a cream hat. Brinkley, 70, rocked a beige sweater, a peachy lipstick shade and a few turquoise rings.

In a nod to the 1983 comedy-adventure film in which they both starred, the supermodel quipped in the caption : "Vacation is always over too soon! 🏎️ @chevychase ."

While the Saturday Night Live alum's part in the movie was more prominent than Brinkley's, fans of the series couldn't help but compare the new photos to that one scene of Brinkley's character driving the red Ferrari and distracting Chase's Clark Griswold, who then narrowly avoids a head-on collision with a truck, with one sharing a GIF of the iconic movie moment in the comments.

"Should have picked him up in the Ferrari 😂," a second joked.

"Vacay Dreams!" another declared, before someone else added, "Ohhh love this. The funniest movie ever."

"Ahh yes! This is greatness 💞Perhaps a sequel?" a different Instagram user inquired. "Cue..holiday road 🎶."

Unfortunately for fans of the film series, nothing new has been announced since the 2015 spinoff Vacation , starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate .

But, for the actor, the celebrations continue as Chase only welcomed a new member to his family earlier this month. Likewise, Brinkley's eldest daughter– Alexa Ray Joel –is engaged, so it's only a matter of time before she's saluting to love!
