When it comes to naming foods, we’ve got a way of regionalizing dishes that, for all intents and purposes, are the same whether you eat them at a fancy restaurant in L.A. or a dive bar in the middle of Jersey. For example, pancakes are often referred to as hot cakes, flapjacks, johnny cakes or griddle cakes, depending on where in the country you are—although they're all essentially the same exact thing.

While persnickety food anthropologists might regale you at length with tales of the differences between each one, for the sake of our argument (and time), we’ll spare you the details. (If you’re interested, though, this article by SapJack is a fascinating read.) Humble pancakes aside, there are lots of other snacks and treats that get different names based on where you might have landed in the country, and Chicago is no stranger to charting its own course when it comes to regional cuisine. Whether you trek to the windy city to try out Mr. Beef—the restaurant that inspired The Bear or you’d rather sink your teeth into a cheesy deep-dish slice of Pequod’s Pizza , there are plenty of delicious dishes to choose from.

If sweets are more your thing, however, you might find yourself grabbing a bag of Fannie May Milk Chocolate Mini Pixies, or what we in the South like to affectionately call turtles. Fortunately, if you can’t make it all the way to Chi-Town to get your hands on this iconic sweet, you can swing by your local Costco to pick up a bag and @costcobuys just gave us the inside scoop on this new and “dangerously good” snack.

Each 13-ounce bag is filled with individually wrapped pixies (or turtles) consisting of smooth caramel and crunchy pecan pieces enrobed in creamy milk chocolate. Talk about a Halloween candy upgrade. Best of all, each bag retails for just $7.49, so you won’t break the bank if you end up with more than two (or five) in your shopping cart.

Native Chicagoans in the comments were delighted to see these sweets pop up at Costco with some saying, “Fannie May is a staple of Chicago candy for as long as I can remember I sure do miss them. 😢” Although we know them as turtles in the South, we share the same sentiments about these delectable sweets. Sounds like we need to make a run to Costco.
