Fans Debate ‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond and Daughter Alex’s Fashion Choices in New Matching Photo

Ree Drummond , the star of The Pioneer Woman , shared a sweet photo posing with her daughter Alex in matching dresses, but it turned out that fans had surprisingly strong opinions on their sense of style.

On Aug. 28, Drummond and her oldest child Alex posed together during a family trip to Vail Mountain in Colorado, smiling brightly as they stood side by side. They both wore black dresses with embroidery on them, with Alex's garment featuring white patterns across the waist, hem and bodice, while Drummond's dress had a colorful floral design down the front.

Drummond captioned the photo, "The Embroidery Girls! 🤓 It’s a thing," with Alex commenting on the post to add, "& it wasn’t even planned 🤪."

While some fans took to the captions to compliment the mother-daughter duo, writing things like, "Beauties ❤️❤️," and "Both of you gorgeous ladies are glowing, Ree! 💖✨💖✨💖✨," many decided to share their thoughts on the dresses they wore.

A surprising amount of people weren't fans of the look and politely shared their thoughts, like a fan who said, "Not my style, but you two do it justice. (beautiful) 💕."

Another wrote, "You gals always look wonderful! No matter what size color or style you have on!"

But some fans outright disagreed with the fashion. One replied to the photo, saying, "Yikes 🙄 Who thinks this is flattering?"

"Immediately no," said another, as more negative comments read, "Sorry… not a good look for both of you…" "Too dowdy," and "Oh dear. It’s a NO!!!"

Quite a few people came to the Drummonds' defense, calling out the judgmental comments, and there were also plenty of people who were genuine fans of Drummond and Alex's dresses.

"As we say in our family … all embroidery, all the time!" wrote an energetic supporter, while more chimed in with, "Love the dresses and the smiles!!!" and "I love both those dresses! They look like they belong in my closet!"

Drummond and her daughter appeared to enjoy quality time together in Colorado during the visit. The family has had a lot to celebrate lately, as Alex is pregnant with her first child and Drummond's other daughter Paige is engaged .
