Chocolate -covered strawberries are a wonderful dessert perfect for a picnic or dinner party , but they aren't always easy to make. You need to melt the chocolate , which can create a big mess in your kitchen, and then you have to let the chocolate firm up after you've dipped the strawberries in the melted chocolate.

With all of those challenges, it's hard to make the case for making your own chocolate-dipped strawberries, but what if there was an easier way? We recently saw a genius chocolate-covered strawberry hack (shared by content creator @dzunglewis ) that will have you rushing to the store to snap up some strawberries !

For this hack, you need your favorite chocolate bar and some washed, fresh strawberries. You open the chocolate bar wrapper by cutting around the edge so that the chocolate is exposed but the wrapper is still under the candy. Then, you let the bar sit in the sun to melt. This is easy to do at outdoor parties and picnics!

Once the chocolate has melted, you put a fork in the leaf end of the strawberry and then dip the berry into the chocolate, swirling it around to coat it as much as you like. That's all you have to do to get chocolate-covered strawberries that are perfect for an outdoor gathering!

"Didn't take any work at all. The sun did the job," she says right before she gives this hack a 9 out of 10 rating.

Another creator, @themhoffers , tried a slightly different version of the trend. She unwrapped a chocolate bar, placed it in a glass baking dish and surrounded it with fruit and other dippers (cookies, etc.). She let it sit by the pool until the chocolate was melty, then everyone dug in! She was also a fan of this trick and said she would "definitely do it again."

Two things to note: dark chocolate bars melt slower than milk chocolate and you can use toothpicks or skewers for the strawberries if you don't want to deal with plastic forks or washing silverware after the party is over. Neither creator specific how long they left the chocolate out in the sun, but the timing will depend on the weather in your neck of the woods. What a sweet way to celebrate the end of summer !
