'1000-Lb Sisters' Fans Praise Tammy Slaton for Vulnerable Confession About Weight Loss

Tammy Slaton recently revealed she lost over 500 pounds—and now, the 1000-Lb Sisters star made a vulnerable confession about her weight loss transformation.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, Slaton, 38, took to Instagram with a video of herself discussing the internal struggles that contributed to her morbid obesity.

"I felt like if there was more help out there for me at that time, I probably wouldn't have gotten so big," the TLC star said in a promotional clip for Pop Recovery Systems .

"The mental aspect of it does play a lot," Slaton confessed. "Being depressed and having a food addiction and eating my feelings, I was taking it out on the food. There's so many things that can go wrong. Life is scary. Pop [Recovery Systems] is amazing."

The reality TV personality explained that having "people that have gone through the similar things that I'm going through" helped her through her weight loss journey. "They will be there for moral support and somebody to talk to, just be your backbone," she added.

Slaton concluded: "I did turn to food for a little bit. But I realized it. Now, I'm back on track."

In the comments, fans praised Slaton—who at her heaviest tipped the scale at 717 pounds—for her incredible progress.
