You can still layer them over other shirts or tanks (even sweaters depending on how oversized it is), but they’re not as thick as a jacket so you can wear them on more occasions. We’re talking about Target’s Women's Long Sleeve Oversized Button-Down Denim Shirt in medium wash. It’s from Target’s brand, Universal Thread, and is currently $30. This classic denim shirt is a true medium wash and has “midweight fabric” that’s made with 80% cotton and 20% recycled cotton.

Women's Long Sleeve Oversized Button-Down Denim Shirt - Universal Thread™ Medium Wash , $30 at Target

In addition to being an oversized button-down shirt, as its name suggests, it has a collared neckline and a curved hem. Plus, this shirt has nice, big front pockets with flaps that button closed. Because it’s oversized, it’s long enough to hit below the hip, making it also great for heavy layering underneath.

There are a good amount of reviews and ratings already—17 at the time of reporting. It has 5 stars, and shoppers are really into this denim shirt. One person wrote that this was a “great denim button-up," saying they “love this button-down” because they don’t like “heavier denim.”

This Target denim shirt is similar to Anthropologie’s Pilcro Oversized Denim Buttondown Shirt , which is currently $128. Just on looks alone, these two are nearly identical even down to the wash and color. It’s also oversized and has front pockets with flaps. Really, the main difference is the fact that this is made with 100% cotton and not 20% recycled cotton. It also might be a bit thicker than Target’s, based on reviews calling it more of a shacket, but the jury is still out on that one.

Madewell Oversize Denim Button-Up Shirt , $98 at Nordstrom

We also said that the Target denim shirt looks like Madewell’s Oversize Denim Button-Up Shirt , which is currently $98 at Nordstrom. It is a lighter wash than Target’s and has a more worn look to it. Plus, it has front pockets without flaps and buttons. However, it still is an oversized button-down denim shirt made out of 100% cotton. It also has a seam down the middle of the back, while Target’s has a seam across the back where the denim gathers. But again, overall, the look of this is very similar.
