Adele Announces Indefinite Hiatus From Music After Finishing Las Vegas Residency

After Adele 's final show in November for her Las Vegas residency, which began in November 2022, the singer will officially take a break from music—and fans don't know how long it will last.

The English singer addressed her fans one night during her series of concerts in Munich, Germany , in August, telling them the tough news. She said, "I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time. And I will hold you dear in my heart."

A fan in the audience captured the moment on video and shared it with others online, captioning the clip, "I HOPE WE SEE ADELE AGAIN! 😭."

One fan pleaded with the "Rolling in the Deep" singer, writing, "Please don’t leave," while others said, "Here we go another 5 years without Adele 💀," and "She will be back. Will just be 8-10 ish years or so."

Many shared support and argued that Adele "deserves it," with replies like, "Good for her! Enjoy your break Adele," and, "She’s been feeding us since 2021 she is going to take a LONG BREAK."

Others tried to predict her next move, wondering if she would take a four-year break to release her next album when she's 40, as all of her albums so far have been named after the age she was when she wrote the songs. Her most recent release was the album 30 , which came out in 2021.

Earlier this summer, Adele shared a comment on whether or not she plans to make music again soon , telling German station ZDF , "I don’t have any plans for new music, at all."

"I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while," she added.

Adele's final set of concert dates in Las Vegas begins on Oct. 25 and continues throughout November, ending just in time for the holiday season. Fans will have to wait and see what Adele has planned next and if she'll be back with new music in the future.
