Kelly Ripa Reveals 'Really Irritating' Thing Husband Mark Consuelos Did While She Was Pregnant

Kelly Ripa is throwing Mark Consuelos under the bus nearly 30 years later as she details his "really irritating" behavior while she was pregnant with their firstborn son, Michael .

The co-anchor called out her hubby on the latest episode of their talk show, Live With Kelly and Mark , which aired on the morning on Monday, Sept. 2, revealing that while she gained 68 pounds during her pregnancy with their now-27-year-old, he was hitting the gym and getting into the shape of a Greek God.

"Let me tell you something. You want to know something really irritating? When I was pregnant, Mark decided he was going to join a gym and hire a trainer," Ripa said, as transcribed by People . "And the more pregnant I got, the fitter he got."

The mother of three, 53, lamented the stories she'd heard about "sympathetic, empathetic husbands that also get pregnant with their wives," gaining weight right alongside them and then having "fun taking it off together," but Consuelos, 53, "turned into Hercules" while news sites were writing headlines about Ripa looking like she "had 7 babies in there."

Consuelos, with whom Ripa also shares 23-year-old daughter Lola and 21-year-old son Joaquin , joked that there was no need for him to gain any sympathetic weight because Ripa "did it for both of us, baby," before justifying that their eldest "was a big kid!"

"He was big, I will hand it to him," Ripa agreed, though it still didn't make it any better when he brought in a printed copy of the article in question "with his rippling muscles," telling her she "shouldn’t feel bad."

"He just came from the gym," she joked, leading him to quip, "Yeah…got to stay fit in case something happens."
