Though a new season of Survivor is right around the corner, fans can't help but think about Season 50. Sure, we're a year and a half away from getting to see the landmark installment of the CBS reality stalwart. But, when host and executive producer Jeff Probst announced earlier this year that Survivor 50 would feature a cast of returning players, it set the fanbase ablaze like a Tribal Council torch.

Over the past handful of months (not several), Survivor fans have been creating their own dream casts and even voting in polls on which of the near-700 castaways they would want to see play on Season 50. And now Parade has joined the fray, as we provide a list of alum that we want to see craft some beachside blindsides once more.

However, as limitless as the exercise might be, we did set up a few rules for ourselves. Probst has said he wants Survivor 50 to be a "celebration" of what the show has done to reality TV--and TV in general. So we've chosen to take a trip through time and pick t least one person from each of the 46 seasons that have aired (Season 47 will premiere with a new group of castaways on Wednesday, September 18 ). We've also decided, with a couple of exceptions, not to look at many players who have been on multiple seasons. While the success of Survivor can be carried on the backs of players like "Boston" Rob Mariano , Parvati Shallow , Tony Vlachos , and Cirie Fields , we opted to mostly pick faces we haven't seen many times, or in a while. Finally, we want our list to be somewhat realistic, so we have opted to not include those who have said they do not want to play again.

From old-school legends to popular returnees to new era standouts, here is our dream cast for Survivor 50 .

Survivor 's first season's cast is arguably its most iconic, as a fresh concept of 16 strangers living together on an island and voting each other out captivated millions in the summer of 2000. And while we've had many legendary players return from Borneo , one Pagong has stood out as a surprising omission. Greg Buis is one of the most unique cast members in the show's history, an Ivy League-educated mind disguised as a goofball. Despite the severity of the social experiment, Greg wanted to prove it was all a TV show at the end of the day, putting on many theatrics, including pretending to sob as he was voted out. Though Greg has largely stayed out of the Survivor community since 2000, Probst has said that he has been in consideration for seasons like Cambodia and Game Changers , ultimately opting out due to work obligations.
