Ree Drummond 's daughter Paige only recently announced her engagement to fiancé David Andersen , but according to an update published on The Pioneer Woman 's website, the family is in full wedding planning mode.
On Sunday, the mother of the bride-to-be revealed that Paige not only set a date but officially asked a handful of those closest to her to be part of her big day in a way that put her crafty skills on full display.
In the Sept. 1 blog post, the doting mom confirmed that Paige asked her sister Alex and a few of her friends from the University of Arkansas to be her bridesmaids—and one to be the maid of honor —in the quickly approaching ceremony.
"Today Paige started gifting her friends (and sister!) with bridesmaid proposal boxes ," Ree wrote, joking that she doesn't think the recent trend of proposing to your bridal party "existed in 1996 when I became engaged to her dad [ Ladd ]...or if they did exist, they either hadn't made it to Oklahoma yet or I wasn't cool enough to know about them."
Still, the 55-year-old celebrity chef and author fully supported Paige's plan, calling it a "fun and cute and...clever way" for the bride to ask the people she wants involved to be bridesmaids.
Ree added a few images of the gift boxes all neatly wrapped, decorated with faux floral arrangements and labeled with vinyl stickers, noting Paige surprised all her friends and popped the question, so to speak, while they were busy celebrating the future bride's 25th birthday in Dallas over the long Labor Day weekend.

"I would like the record to reflect that I had three bridesmaids when Ladd and I got married. I think I was trying to be different," the cookbook author joked beside a photo of the 12 white boxes laid out on a bed. "I also had pencil-thin eyebrows thanks to a trend set by Drew Barrymore in the 90's , but that's another story for another time."
Inside the proposals, Paige pasted a card that read, "Can't say 'I do' without you! Will you be my bridesmaid?" next to a black-and-white picture of herself with the recipient on the underside of the lid. She then filled the boxes with goodies like mini bottles of champagne outfitted with custom labels, matchbooks with her wedding date–May 17, 2025–on them, a small candle, hand cream and a scarf with a tag that said, "Let's tie the knot!"
As for her maid of honor, Paige asked her BFF Anna , whom Ree described as having an "inseparable" friendship with her daughter. "The fact that Anna is Paige's maid of honor makes me happy, she's such a sweet friend," Ree wrote before concluding with a joke about their tight bond: "And she'll have a blast on the honeymoon !"
Along with Paige and Alex, Ree is a mom to three sons: Bryce , Todd and Jamar .
