Nikki Bella Makes First Public Appearance After Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest–Without Her Wedding Ring!

Nikki Bella stepped back into the spotlight for the first time since her husband Artem Chigvintsev's arrest on domestic violence charges. And, surprisingly, she was without her wedding ring.

The former WWE wrestler appeared on Netflix as a co-host of their special "Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef," a hot dog eating contest in Las Vegas. Nikki appeared on camera alongside co-host Rob Riggle to an ovation from the live audience, and even declarations of love.

"I’m so happy to be here," she said upon Riggle introducing her. Nikki carried on with her hosting duties, without making any reference to her personal life.

Nikki's appearance caps off a dramatic few days for her household. On Thursday, news broke of Artem's arrest in Napa on charges of domestic battery. The couple, who celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary last week, met on Dancing with the Stars .

Officials with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office said Artem's arrest came when deputies responded to a domestic violence call. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told the Associated Press that there were signs indicating abuse. Details about those signs, as well as the alleged victim, have yet to be released by authorities. Artem was eventually released on a $25,000 bail.

The day after Artem's arrest, Nikki's team released a statement , saying, “This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time."

The situation became even more complicated when details of the 911 dispatch call were revealed courtesy of TMZ. The dispatcher reported that Artem had put in an initial call for medical assistance, saying he was afraid of the injuries to the victim obtained. He then canceled the call.

“Initially, this came in as the [reporting party] requesting medical," they said. "But now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife, and his wife threw shoes at the [reporting party]."

Nikki and Artem were partnered together on Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars in 2017, and began dating soon after. The two have been married since August 2022 and share a 4-year-old son. Before her appearance on Netflix, Nikki was spotted boarding a private jet with her son, also not wearing her wedding ring.
