We all know that when your bananas are going bad, you can turn them into yummy banana bread . But what do you do with stale banana bread (assuming it lasts long enough to get stale)? Chef Bobby Flay has the answer and it looks incredible!

Flay showed this amazing hack on TikTok via the @foodnetwork and we can't believe we haven't thought about this before. It is incredibly simple and will make your banana bread , whether it's fresh or slightly stale, taste 10x better.

Flay said that he likes to make a banana bread waffle with a Bananas Fosters Sauce, and we have to have that!

To make the dish, you slice your banana bread, coat a hot waffle iron with non-stick spray, and then place the bread in the iron. As it's waffling, make the sauce, which is just a combination of butter, brown sugar, rum and heavy cream. You'll also need to chop some bananas, which will go in the warm sauce once it's ready. Top the warm banana bread waffles with the sauce and dig in.

"This could be brunch, could be dessert, it could be both," Flay says. We think it should be both! it looks so good.

"I can't conceive of banana bread that hangs around long enough to become stale," someone commented on his video. We can't either, but you can also waffle fresh banana bread or use this method to dress up store-bought banana bread. We also think it would be delicious made withĀ pumpkin loaf!

"Man, that looks so good," someone else said. We agree, and it looks really easy to make, too. Some people were a little intimidated by the sauce because Flay flambes it, but if you're not in your Iron Chef era you can skip lighting the sauce on fire and just use rum or vanilla extract instead.

We can't wait to make this for a delicious Sunday brunch!
