How to Make Canned Cinnamon Rolls 10x Cuter

Now that the temps are dropping, baking up some yummy treats will be high on everyone's list of things to do. Of course, you can find a great recipe for tons of great made-from-scratch treats, but you don't always have the time. For those busy fall days and nights, it's baking mixes and canned dough to the rescue.

Canned cinnamon rolls are a great shortcut ingredient and there are tons of ways to upgrade them. We love to bake them with heavy cream, but you can also add extra cinnamon and brown sugar inside, or brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter before baking. You could also make your own glaze, or add some nuts to the top.

Another way to upgrade canned cinnamon rolls is to make them into cute fall shapes. We've seen from-scratch bread made into cute little pumpkins, but content creator @athomewithshannon shared this trick to turn canned cinnamon rolls into pumpkins and we can't wait to try this trick.

To make these pumpkin-shaped cinnamon rolls, all you do is take your rolls out of the can and then wrap them loosely three times with some baker's twine. As they bake, the twine will create pumpkin-shaped indentations. Remove the twine and add a cinnamon stick for a pumpkin stem. That's all it takes to make your canned rolls look homemade and totally adorable!

Once the pumpkin-shaped cinnamon rolls are done, you can glaze them with the canned frosting they come with or you can make a sticky caramel glaze by melting butter and brown sugar together in a pot, and then brushing it on top of the rolls. To add more fall flavor, add some diced apples or pears to the rolls or drizzle warm maple syrup, honey or caramel over the rolls to complement the cinnamon flavor, then top with some chopped pecans.

These simple tweaks can transform your canned cinnamon rolls into something that feels more personal and festive. They'd be great for a fall brunch !
