Rapper Rich Homie Quan Dead at 34

Rich Homie Quan , a rapper known for hits that include "Type of Way" and "Flex," suddenly passed away on Thursday. He was 34 years old.

A rep for the Fulton County morgue told TMZ that the artist is believed to have died in his home in Atlanta, Ga., on Sept. 5 . Quan's family later confirmed the tragic news, telling the outlet they are "shattered and heartbroken" by the rapper's untimely passing.

At this time, no details regarding the cause or manner of Quan's death have been revealed.

Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar , first rose to fame with his 2013 song "Type of Way," which was followed by two hit singles in 2015, "Flex" and "Ride Out."

He was also known for collaborating with Young Thug as part of the group Rich Gang.

Following the news of Quan's unexpected death, fans and other artists in the industry have taken to social media to memorialize the late rapper, including R&B singer Jacquees , who posted about the devastating news on Instagram.

"QUAN! 💔😥🙏🏾👼🏽 MY BROTHER!!!" he wrote under a photo of the two artists on Thursday, while also taking to his Instagram Stories, as well as X (formerly Twitter), to share more memories with Quan.

"Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan. I love you for Life," he wrote in one tweet , while calling Quan a "legend" in another follow-up post .

Another rapper, Boosie BadAzz , also posted about Quan's death, revealing that he "just talked" to him recently, before his sudden passing.

"WE GOT SOME GOOD ASS MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE," Boosie tweeted on Thursday, adding the hashtag, "restupquan."
