'Forbidden Love's Laurie Finally Makes a Decision About Converting to Orthodox Judaism (Exclusive Clip)

Converting to a new religion can be a long and complicated journey—just ask the couples featured in Forbidden Love . And it seems the pressure has finally gotten to Laurie Palermo .

In a clip TLC shared exclusively with Parade , Laurie, who was raised Catholic, seemingly made a decision about converting to Orthodox Judaism for her partner, Eli Hayempour .

The sneak peek video for the Sept. 8 episode of Forbidden Love featured Laurie preparing to take a conversion assessment.

"You have tried very hard up until now and you're doing well," a rabbi told her as they sat at a table. "However, now it counts. Are you ready for the exam?"

After hesitating, a flustered Laurie told him she needed to use the bathroom and excused herself.

"I'm completely overwhelmed by this test. Like, everything just kind of like rides on this," Laurie said in a confessional. "I could never imagine my future without Eli. Just thinking about it...No."

The scene then cut to a shot of a women's bathroom door, with sounds of Laurie getting sick audible to viewers.

"Thinking about him not being in my life would just really devastate me," she confessed. "Yeah, I don't know. I don't know what I'd do. I don't want to lose him...I definitely don't want to f--k the test up."

After returning from the restroom, Laurie said, "All right, Rabbi, sorry about that. I'm just nervous," to which he replied, "If there's hesitation there, then we pack up. We leave."

She assured him, "No, no, no, we're ready. I'm ready."

"No, you're not ready yet," the rabbi insisted before the clip ended.
