Salma Hayek Looks Unrecognizable in Unearthed Childhood Photo

A photo that Salma Hayek recently shared online amazed many of her social media followers—mostly because it took a minute for them to realize the snap was of the House of Gucci actress.

Hayek, now 58, was practically unrecognizable in the undated photo from her childhood. Though Hayek did not reveal her age or where she was when the picture was taken, it appeared to show her several years before her breakthrough in Hollywood.

In the photo posted on Instagram , a young Hayek wore her black hair down, her curls falling to her shoulders as the side of her face was framed by feathered sections of her hair. Hayek cast an unsmiling look at the camera, gazing solemnly at the unseen person taking the photo and looking directly into the camera’s lens.

Hayek crossed her arms in the photo as she leaned against a patch of grass. She wore a watch on her left wrist and a purple and pink tank top, featuring an indiscernible print and small, fluttery sleeves that draped over her shoulders.

Fans who reacted to the photo posted on Thursday, Sept. 5, loved seeing the “Great pic from the past,” declaring that Hayek was “Beautiful from Day 1.” Many people praised the actress as they left comments telling her she was “cute,” “stunning” and “sweeeeet❤️” in the snapshot.

While one person sought clarification on how old Hayek was in the photo, others drew comparisons between the Magic Mike’s Last Dance star and her daughter, with one declaring that 16-year-old Valentina “looks like u so much❤️.”

Valentina, who turns 17 later this month, is the only child that Hayek shares with her husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault , though he has three children from prior relationships. The couple welcomed Valentina in 2007 and were married in early 2009.
