    Candace Cameron Bure Updates Fans With Emotional Statement After 'Difficult Weekend'

    Candace Cameron Bure recently announced the loss of her father-in-law, and now, she's giving fans an update on how she and her family have been coping with the devastating news.

    In a new statement shared via Instagram Stories on Sunday, Sept. 8, the Full House actress showed gratitude toward fans for the kindness and support they've shown since the family death was announced.

    "Thank you for all the sweet words, texts, phone calls, and condolences to our family," she wrote, alongside three red heart emojis. "It was a difficult weekend. We feel very blessed to have a strong, supportive family who loves each other and incredible friends."

    The Fuller House star continued to share another photo of the deceased wearing a medal around his neck, next to the sentiment: "RIP Vladimir Bure You will always be in our hearts."

    As previously reported , Cameron Bure first announced the loss on Wednesday, Sept. 5. "Our hearts are broken as we grieve the loss of Val’s dad Vladimir Bure," she wrote via social media at the time. "I loved this man so very much."

    She continued: "To me, he represented not only the gift of life (my husband) that I am forever grateful for, but one of strength, dedication, motivation, resilience, willpower and love. In my mind, he was the epitome of each of those words, a little bit super human in some way."

    Additionally, the Unsung Hero actress detailed his impressive athletic achievements, including as a four-time Olympic medalist in swimming and two-time Stanley Cup-winning coach for the New Jersey Devils. In addition to being a "dedicated coach," he was "a proud father, grandfather , [and] husband."

    That’s heartbreaking for sure. When my father in law died, it crushed my world and it took me years to get over it. My children were only 20 months and 11 months old. They loved their Grandpa Charlie. My daughter suffered PTSD from his loss as they were together all of the time. She quit eating, drinking, sleeping and playing. My kids lost out on knowing and growing older with him. My deepest sympathies to their families. 😢💔🙏😢💔🙏😢💔🙏😢
