Ed Sheeran Powers Through Onstage Injury as He Receives Medical Care Mid-Song

Ed Sheeran sustained an injury onstage during a concert this past weekend, but he didn't let his bloodied hand stop the show.

In a now-viral video recently uploaded to TikTok by a fan page dedicated to the artist, Sheeran stood onstage with his left hand raised while addressing the crowd, telling them he somehow got cut.

The 33-year-old then turned his wounded hand to the crowd, showing them the nasty injury on his middle finger. He continued with the show as if nothing was wrong, with the "Shape of You" singer even performing a cappella while a medic treated the minor injury on center stage.

Once bandaged, Sheeran continued to sing for the crowd and slowly strummed his guitar as he got acclimated to the wrap around his finger.

A translated version of the accompanying caption stated the incident occurred at one of the Grammy winner's concerts in Cyprus on Saturday, Sept. 7. The TikToker also praised the artist for his ability to sing without backup vocals or instruments.

Information in the post also confirmed the song Sheeran sang while receiving medical treatment was his ghost track, "The Parting Glass."

Fans praised the British songwriter for how he handled the gash and, subsequently, the rest of the show despite being thrown off by the accident. One called him "pure talent," while another declared him "such a pro."

They may be on to something, as in the past year of his career alone, Sheeran has had to recover from several onstage surprises—like the time he fumbled his instruments and unknowingly got wrapped up in a gender reveal gone wrong .

"He still played the guitar 😭," another wrote in disbelief.

"What a hero," someone else gushed.

Others wanted to know what caused the nasty and painful-looking cut, but as of writing, that remains unclear.
