The Darkness Singer Justin Hawkins Has Bold Reaction to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Singing His Song in Viral U.S. Open Clip

Taylor Swift is more than just a music star—she's a music fan.

A viral video of Swift and Travis Kelce at the U.S. Open on Sunday, Sept. 8, showed the "Fortnight" songstress and the former NFL player rocking out to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness as it played over the loudspeakers. Swift mouthed the lyrics and busted out a little air guitar—and the clip even caught the attention of Justin Hawkins , lead singer of The Darkness.

Hawkins took to TikTok on Monday, Sept. 9 to say how "lovely" it was to see Swift and Kelce "enjoying" his music, and to share a story about his recent experience at an Eras Tour concert.

"A few weeks ago I went to see Taylor Swift at the stadium in Zurich, and the hospitality they showed us was extraordinary," the singer said. "They put us in a lovely VIP area, I had Chris Rock on one side, Roger Federer on the other side, and I was just dad of the year."

Hawkins continued, "And to make matters even more spectacular, Taylor Swift actually sent me a lovely letter that was waiting for me in the VIP section talking about how much she loves the song 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love.' I was just dad of the year, maybe even dad of the century, because all of that was a big surprise."

"Speaking of big surprises, I woke up this morning and everybody's forwarded me some twitters of 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' being played at the U.S. Open and Taylor Swift and her partner, Travis, dancing along to it and really enjoying the music," Hawkins added. "So it was really a heartwarming moment for me and my little girl can't wait to tell her friends at school. So thanks Taylor, thanks Travis, thanks everybody who enjoys tennis. That was a really lovely start to the day."

Commenters loved hearing Hawkins' reaction to the U.S. Open video.
