TikToker Dead After Running Disneyland Half Marathon Expressed Concerns Just Days Before

Fans of TikToker Caleb Graves are mourning the loss of the social media star, who passed away at the age of 33 after crossing the finish line in the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon.

As Us Weekly reported, Graves required medical assistance shortly after completing the race on Sunday, Sept. 8.

In a statement, Anaheim Police Department public information officer Sergeant Matt Sutter said that as soon as Graves crossed the finish line, "one of the workers at the marathon noticed the gentleman was clutching his chest. They noticed he was going into cardiac arrest.”

“He was quickly transported to the nearby Anaheim Global Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later,” Sutter added. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Graves was popular on TikTok for his content about Disney parks and films, as well as running and travel. At the time of his death, he had over 17,000 followers.

Just days before his death, Graves posted about the upcoming Disneyland marathon.

“Disney Halloween Half Marathon Weekend is here! 🎃 Hit the runDisney race weekend expo this morning to grab my bib, shop a little merch, and get hype for the Sunday race!” he captioned a video of himself at a pre-race event. “If you’re running this weekend, remember it will be HOT! Stay hydrated and listen to your body. Good luck to all the runners!”

Graves expressed concern over the heat in another TikTok the day before the race.

“I have, maybe, some susceptibility—I don’t know if it’s temporary or long-term—to heat because I was outside for, like, 20 minutes walking my dog, just walking around the block. It was hot, but I felt fine when I came in,” he said in a video. “And then, like, 10 minutes after I got back in, I just passed out, fell asleep, no control over my body. It was heat exhaustion, ’cause it’s only happened once to me before.”

"Seeing this after hearing the news breaks my heart even more. RIP 😭❤️" one fan commented on the post, as another questioned, "Why did @Disney Parks hold a half marathon during a heat wave?!?"

In response, others explained, "Even Disney can’t predict the weather months in advance when they plan these things" and "They have half & full marathons all year around in Florida. It’s insanely hot here almost all throughout the year 😬."

Many fans and followers simply sent their condolences, noting: "Rest in peace, Caleb. You died doing something you loved and your memory will live on 💙."
