As fall kicks into gear, it's time to draft your bucket list for the season. Lists will vary but for the ultimate fall fans, it's bound to include bottomless pumpkin spice lattes, Gilmore Girls watch parties, cute photo shoots at the pumpkin patch followed by warm apple cider donuts and enjoying the crisp autumn air in your coziest sweaters.

Even if you love to snack on whole apples picked right off the tree at the orchard, some of the quintessential apple recipes apple pies , apple turnovers and apple crisp —depend on sliced apples. The Easiest Way to Cut An Apple

This amazing apple-slicing hack was shared on TikTok by creator @claredodo in a recent video. Not only is her method easy to master, but it also doesn't call for a single-use gadget, like an apple slicer or apple corer. All you need is a basic kitchen knife .

Let's get into how it's done.

    1. Place an apple on a cutting board with the stem side facing up.

    2. Take a chef's knife and cut along one side of the stem. Repeat on the opposite side of the stem, holding onto the apple so the apple stays together.

    3. Rotate the apple 90 degrees and cut along the stem again, which should make three pieces of apple fall off of the fruit and onto your cutting board.

    4. Cut along the stem on the remaining side and the core of the apple should be separated from the rest of the fruit. Now you have eight perfect apple slices ready for snacking—or for slicing or dicing to use in your favorite recipe.
