It's Over! Nikki Garcia Files for Divorce From Former 'DWTS' Pro Artem Chigvintsev

Their dancing days are over. Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev just two weeks after the former Dancing with the Stars pro was arrested on a charge of corporal injury to a spouse in Napa Valley, CA, where the estranged couple have a home. The news was first reported by TMZ .

Nikki filed the paperwork in Napa Valley, California, it was reported by People, who were told by her rep, "Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce. She continues to ask for privacy for her and her family at this time."

Nikki made her first public appearance on Sept. 2 at Netflix’s “Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef” hot live dog eating contest, which she co-hosted with Rob Riggle, minus her wedding ring.

Artem was arrested on Aug. 29 on the aforementioned charge of corporal injury to a spouse and released on $25,000 bail just hours after the arrest.

Initially, it was Artem who phoned 911 to request medical assistance, but he later called back to cancel. Nevertheless, the police still responded and Artem was arrested.

Both Nikki and the pair’s son Matteo, 4, were present at the residence at the time.

The two first met when Artem was Nikki’s pro on Dancing with the Stars in 2017. At that time, Nikki was in a relationship with John Cena , and didn’t begin dating until Nikki and John broke up. Artem and Nikki, who were married in Paris on August 26, 2022

Dancing with the Stars will be returning to ABC and Disney+ on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, but a rep for the show says Artem will not be in the ballroom for Season 33, a decision that was made prior to his arrest. Artem competed last season with Bachelorette star Charity Lawson . They finished in fourth place.
