Jessica Simpson is taking fans' breath away with her latest Instagram photo.
On Thursday, the 44-year-old singer, actress and fashion designer teased fans with a candlelit black and white portrait of herself on social media, which she shared alongside a mysterious message.
"V1," she began in the caption of her cryptic Sept. 12 upload to the picture-sharing platform. "Breadcrumbs of black obsidian."
"Connect me to the crown…" she concluded.
In the image, the mom of three was sitting in an accent chair in what appeared to be a recording studio, with professional-quality headphones on and a music stand holding sheet music before her as she looked to be belting out a note. To the "Irresistible" songstress' left were a set of microphones as well as an end table that held Simpson's blinged-out Stanley Cup tumbler, a matching rhinestone wine glass, a lit candle and a Victorian-style stained glass table lamp.
Though there was little to no information in the post itself, the many Instagram accounts Simpson tagged in the post–including a recording studio in Nashville, Tenn., several musicians as well as her producer, Teresa LaBarbera , among others–fueled fan theories that this is her telling the world that her new music is almost ready.
Some may remember that Simpson told Footwear News last November that she was planning a 2024 album release and an accompanying tour.
"omg new music yess!!!!!!" one very excited fan gushed before someone else similarly chimed in squealing, "OMG NEW MUSIC MY QUEEN????😍😍😍😍😍😍."
"We are ready Jess 🔥," a third declared.
"Im crying 😭," another wrote.
"So ready for your return, Queen!!!" a different fan exclaimed. "You've been sorely missed!!"
"Where’s the album?! ❤️❤️❤️," someone else asked.
As of writing, no other details (like a release date, album name, or tour plans) have been confirmed. But when she officially announces the upcoming release, it will be her first new album in over 13 years. The former reality TV star hasn't recorded anything new since her 2010 holiday album Happy Christmas. Simpson's last non-holiday album, Do You Know, was released two years prior in 2008.
