Ron Howard and Henry Winkler are bringing the Happy Days gang back together!

The two actors, who both starred in the famous '70s sitcom, reunited at the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 15, making an appearance on the award show stage to celebrate a major milestone together.

The dynamic duo were marking the 50th anniversary of the beloved show, which first premiered in January 1974.

In celebration of the big anniversary, the two actors reunited on a recreation of the Happy Days diner set during Sunday's Emmy presentation.

Winkler started things off by congratulating his "very good friend for 50 years" on winning an Emmy for the documentary Jim Henson: Idea Man .

After thanking Winkler, Howard went on to note that their appearance wasn't accompanied by any music—namely, the Happy Days theme song.

"Well, I have a solution," said Howard. "You could do it."

"No, come on, first of all, I'm out of practice," Winkler protested. "And second of all, it takes schooling, and, you know..."

"You went to the Yale School of Drama," Howard pointed out. "Come on, you know you can do it."

And with that, Winkler pulled a classic Fonzie, walking over to the jukebox and giving it a sharp tap. Instantly, the Happy Days theme song started to play—to the delight of viewers everywhere.

    "Epic," wrote one X user.

"Legends," agreed a second fan .

Howard, 70, starred as the main character Richie Cunningham on the hit series, playing a son to father Howard ( Tom Bosley ) and mother Marion ( Marion Ross ) and sister to Joanie ( Erin Moran .) Winkler, now 78, famously starred as the fan-favorited character Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli, the local leather jacket-wearing cool guy, also known as "The Fonz."

The Happy Days cast members are also no stranger to the Primetime Emmy Awards, as the show received a total of nine nominations during its run, including a win in 1978 for Outstanding Film Editing in a Comedy Series. Winkler was also nominated three years in a row between 1976 and 1978 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
