Costco Dropped a Brand New Bakery Item, and Shoppers Say It's 'One of the Best'

After spending any amount of time online looking up Costco related content, it becomes very clear how beloved the popular bulk retailer is to its customers. When a fan-favorite item is pulled from the shelf, shoppers fly into a frenzy online and social media becomes flooded with disappointed opinions and calls for its return. Despite Costco’s not-so-secret agenda of rotating seasonal offerings in and out of the store, you’d think a product being pulled from the shelf would be the end of the world when talking to a Costco superfan.

With fall on the horizon, Costco has long been prepared for the influx of fall-themed cravings. If there’s one place you should shop this season more than any other section in the warehouse, it's Costco’s trusted bakery department. And for those who have a muffin-shaped hole left in their hearts by Costco’s previously famed coffee cake muffins, the newest bakery find is the perfect fix for your coffee cake cravings.

Spotted by Costco Buys and quickly shared to Instagram to spread the word, everyone's favorite bakery department has just begun to roll out the Kirkland Signature Cinnamon Coffee Cake loaf. This 30-ounce behemoth retails for just $9.99 and is made with a deliciously moist cocoa and cinnamon batter and topped with a sweet butter cinnamon streusel drizzle.

“It’s crumbly, delicious, and definitely a new favorite,” the admin behind Costco Buys exclaims in the caption to their video.

Fans of Costco’s previously discontinued coffee cake muffins were quick to recognize the new cake offering as being a possible replacement for their dearly missed muffin treats. Amongst comments referring to the Cinnamon Coffee Cake as both “delicious” and “amazing,” plenty of dedicated muffin folks online were still expressing their joy to have a temporary muffin alternative.

“This will have to do until they bring back the muffins,” one commenter wrote in jest.

As is the case for any popular item at Costco, though, the shelf life of this new fall offering is totally up in the air. We can expect to see the new Cinnamon Coffee Cake loaf pop up at warehouses nationwide as the season progresses. However, it seems as though availability of the cake will totally depend on how similar in flavor and texture the cake is to the once-famed coffee cake muffins.
