Lay's Launches Spicy New Flavor of Kettle Cooked Chips Fans Say They 'Have to Get'

Fans of Lay's Kettle Cooked Chips couldn't be more pumped over the brand's spicy new flavor.

The new variety is inspired by the bold, savory and peppery heat of Cajun-style cooking and those who have been lucky enough to get their hands on a bag confirmed that they do, in fact, pack a fiery kick.

Lay's Kettle Cooked Cajun Spice appears to have been quietly released sometime this summer, as some food bloggers and content creators were sent bags in June ahead of the official rollout, but they've since been spotted on shelves at Kroger and 7-Eleven stores and online at several other retailers, including Walmart and Target.

Whether the new Cajun Spice chips will be permanently added to Lay's growing lineup of flavors or only be around for a limited time is currently unclear, but social media users are rooting for the zesty new chip's success.

"The Cajun Spice flavor is INCREDIBLE and work really well with the texture of the Kettle Chips," one food blogger wrote in an Aug. 4 Facebook post reviewing the product ahead of its release. "Really happy I got to try these and I REALLY hope they are released fully so you all get to try them too."

Fast-forward to this week, several eagle-eyed shoppers shared a video of themselves reviewing the item on TikTok, with one admitting that the "chips are delicious" and the spices are visible.

"You can definitely smell the spice when you open up the bag," a second added in a separate video , also noting the chips are "very good," "a little hot" and "definitely has that Cajun spice taste to it."

"I would definitely get these again."

All of this prompted fans to share their excitement in the comments.

"Haven’t seen those," one foodie replied. "I have to get them."

A second declared, "I need to try these!"

"Please bring these in my life chip gods!!!!!🥰," another quipped.
