McDonald’s Shares Exciting Update About Its $5 Meal Deal

From the looks of it, McDonald's fans have something to celebrate, as the chain announced the continuation of one of its current meal deals.

The $5 Meal Deal, initially introduced in June , was meant to serve as an enticing budget option to lure customers back into the fast food chain's stores. But now, luckily for Big Mac lovers, it has been extended until at least the end of the year (Dec. 2024), according to CNBC .

However, it seems the offering won't be available at every McDonald's eatery, depending on which market it's located in.

"Franchisees have been voting on extending the value meal, and roughly 80% of local markets have opted to extend the deal into December," the outlet noted, adding that "voting on extensions are ongoing."

The value meal offers a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece chicken nuggets and a small soft drink for just $5.

As previously reported, the deal was only meant to last about a month, but the company's president recently made a statement about its extension.

“Together with our franchisees, we’re committed to keeping our prices as affordable as possible, which is why we’re doubling down with even more ways to save,” McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger said about the meal’s extension into December, per the news outlet.

Additionally, restaurants will offer more local deals and promotions throughout the fall, along with more discounts on the McDonald's app.

McDonald's Free Fries Friday is ongoing through the end of 2024, as well as a $0.50 Double Cheeseburgers deal on National Cheeseburger Day (Sept. 18), a $2 McCrispy sandwich in honor of National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day (Nov. 9), and $1 10-piece Chicken McNuggets Nov. 4 through Dec. 2 (valid once a week through the deal's run), as reported by Food & Wine .
