When you need comfort food quickly, it's hard to beat a grilled cheese sandwich . Toasty bread and melty cheese is a combo that always hits the spot and you almost always have all of the ingredients at home. Grilled cheese is a classic kid favorite, but there are lots of ways to make it grown-up friendly too. It's also one of those sandwiches that's great paired with a hot bowl of soup .

There are many great ways to make a grilled cheese and content creator @cici.soriano may have just shared one of the cutest versions we've ever seen. She used King's Hawaiian rolls to make a new version of an old classic and we have to have one right now!

How Do You Make Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Using King's Hawaiian Rolls?

King's Hawaiian rolls are soft, slightly sweet rolls that originated in the 1950s in Hawaii. The rolls went viral years ago when food creators and home cooks started using them to make slider-style sandwiches with all sorts of meat and cheese combos. Cooks would slice the entire block of rolls in half, layer on meats and cheeses, put them in a baking dish and bake until melty and delicious.

But for this new viral King's Hawaiian roll recipe, we're headed in an even smaller direction with couldn't-be-cuter mini grilled cheese sandwiches. To make them, Cici cuts each roll into three slices, then mixes garlic salt and dried parsley into melted unsalted butter to create homemade garlic butter. She spreads the garlic butter on the outside of each slice of bread and places half of the slices on an electric griddle, butter side down.

Once half of the bread slices were on the griddle, she turned on the griddle and topped the bread slices with cheese. Another slice of buttered bread went on top, creating the mini sandwiches. She cooked them as you would a regular grilled cheese and served them with tomato soup for dipping.

They looked absolutely delicious! Cici said these would make a great school lunch for your kid's lunchbox, or even a quick game day appetizer.

"No this is dangerous. I’ll end up eating them like chips and dip and eat equivalent to 10 sandwiches in a sitting," someone commented on Cici's Instagram post. "I really need this for my well being right now," someone else commented. And we agree. This is next-level comfort food!
