Kate Middleton Makes First Public Appearance Since Announcing End of Chemotherapy Treatment

Kate Middleton , who earlier this month announced that she is no longer undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, is easing her way back into public life.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales attended a religious service Sunday, Sept. 22 near Balmoral, Scotland along with members of the royal family, reports The Sun .

Middleton attended services at Crathie Kirk Church alongside her husband, Prince William , as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla .

The mother of three was spotted wearing a stylish hat with a feather as well as a brown plaid jacket. Prince William wore a dark suit with a patterned tie, while King Charles wore a tan suit and matching vest, paired with a brown tie.

The British royals regularly attend services at the church when in the area—Balmoral Castle is widely believed to have been Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite residence, with the monarch’s family spending summers and many holidays at the estate in the Scottish Highlands.

Princess Kate returned to her royal duties earlier this week , taking part in a meeting with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood along with her staff to work on the early years childhood project. According to The Telegraph , Middleton received updates about the project throughout the course of her cancer treatment when she was well enough to work.

Middleton has spoken about her continued focus on her health after her illness, stating in a video released Sept. 9 by the royal family that she is “doing what I can to stay cancer free,” as “the last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.”
